POSITION DESCRIPTION: In this role, you will be responsible for development activities related to BLM’s underground storage caverns and liquids pipelines as well as new business that may be near existing infrastructure or opportunities into new areas. Duties include but are not limited to: Have working knowledge of the company’s assets from an operating, technical and commercial perspective
Understand new projects delivery from an Engineering and Construction perspective
Have a thorough understanding of petrochemical and NGL supply and demand trends
Support company interests through managing customer relations, contracts, and thoroughly understanding industry trends
Maintain, grow, and manage current and new customer relationships and accounts to build long-lasting relationship and develop new business opportunities by identifying the decision makers in each organization
Participate in industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and provide feedback and relevant information on market and competitive trends
Develop new projects on BLM existing infrastructure and potential projects in new regions of growth for BLM
Support efforts to develop potential storage facilities that are strategic to the pipeline systems
Monitor new petrochemical projects and business trends to provide updates, opportunities and strategies to senior management
Understand the company’s goal and purpose in order to help enhance the company’s performance targets
Provide weekly/biweekly updates on existing and potential business to management
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
BS in Engineering or BBA in Business from an accredited university
10-20 years of experience with NGL and/or Olefins
Valid driver’s license
Ability to apply logical or scientific principles to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and dynamic variables
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work in a team environment on large projects
Ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with clients, customers, contractors, internal and public groups
Ability to effectively negotiate with clients, customers, stakeholders and contractors
Understanding of underground storage operations
Working knowledge of project economics, midstream contracts and back office support
Ability to integrate technical, commercial, social and customer requirements to deliver value
Understanding of existing pipeline networks, midstream infrastructure and supply/demand driver
Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s in Business Administration
Recognized leader in the midstream industry with a proven track record for project development and delivery
Existing network of senior level executives in the midstream and/or petrochemical sectors
Direct operations experience in plants and/or pipelines
High level understanding of subsurface salt dome geology and cavern integrity considerations
Experience with liquid pipeline tariffs
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Bachelor’s degree in Business
PREFERRED EDUCATION:
BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or MBA
