Under general supervision in an outpatient clinical setting, assists with administrative services, assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.Medical Assistant opportunity in Clinical Center for Targeted Therapy. The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma and at least one year of Medical Assistant experience; preferably in a hospital environment.Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:30pm (30 minute lunch) with no weekends or holidaysKEY FUNCTIONSUnder the direction of the registered nurse, assists with patient care procedures: Monitors and records patient vital signs Monitors and records patient weight Positions patients as requested by nurse or by the patient Cares for patients on isolation status Obtains fingerstick glucose testing as requested Documents patient data and care given in the electronic medical recordPatient Interaction Greeting and arriving patients in the computer system Interacting with patients in a manner appropriate for the age and life stage of the patient Escorts patients, materials, specimens, and equipment to various clinic sections, nursing units or assigned roomsClinic duties Maintains stocks of supplies as necessary Stocks assigned rooms with designated supplies Will clean equipment, according to prescribed maintenance schedules, or as needed.
