We focus exclusively on cancer and have seen cases of every kind.The GI Surgical Oncology Unit is a 32-bed, post-operative, medical-surgical unit serving patient from 18-80 years old. Surgeries may include but are not limited to the following: whippple, colon resections, liver resections and small bowel resection.Function Provides patient care services as assigned by a registered nurse.Scope Impacts patient comfort and outcome of care.Essential Job Functions Acts as member of a multidisciplinary team that identifies and addresses patient care needs. Assists in completion of activities of daily living, mobilization, admit/discharge and obtaining vital signs. Updates and retrieves patient information. Ensures patient environment is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner.
