Payroll Manager

Description We are seeking a Payroll Manager for a short term contract employment opportunity in Houston, Texas. The individual will be responsible for managing payroll-related tasks in a fast-paced environment. The role requires proficiency in various payroll and accounting software and a strong understanding of compliance and benefit functions. Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation and processing of payroll in compliance with regulatory requirements Utilize ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now for efficient payroll management Apply knowledge of Ceridian, Data Processing, and Great Plains (GPAC) in handling payroll tasks Manage 401k - RRSP Administration and other benefit functions Use About Time software for efficient time tracking and management Handle various accounting functions related to payroll Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices Coordinate with the HR department to ensure correct employee data Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries. Requirements Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now Experience with Ceridian and Data Processing Knowledge of Great Plains (GPAC) Familiarity with 401k - RRSP Administration and About Time Strong grasp of Accounting Functions and Benefit Functions Proven ability to maintain Compliance in payroll operations Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in a payroll management or similar role Strong leadership skills and ability to lead a team Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding payroll and taxes Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
