At Houston Methodist, the Postdoctoral Fellow position is responsible for performing basic research duties under the supervision/direction of a Physician and/or Principal Investigator (PI). This position may work in a laboratory setting or may consist of computer work that supports the department\'s research mission.

Under the mentorship of Dr. Brian A. Taylor, the postdoctoral fellow in this program will receive extensive training in diffusion magnetic resonance (MR) imaging for the purposes of image-guided therapy, particularly in neurosurgery. This will include an introduction to magnetic resonance physics and protocol optimization related to diffusion MR. A focus of the research will be developing advanced post-processing techniques to identify functional white matter tracts that are important to identify in the surgical planning process. The fellow will work closely with neurosurgery faculty in a research (non-clinical) role. The fellow will also participate in grant writing exercises and training to help start their career in academic research.

At Houston Methodist, the Clinical Research Fellow position is responsible for performing clinical research of a complex nature; plans, executes and completes clinical research projects under the supervision/direction of a Principal Investigator. This position provides structured education and first-hand applied experiences in such topics as epidemiology, biostatistics, clinical pharmacology, and biomedical ethics/regulation and a certificate of fellowship is granted to the Clinical Research Fellow upon satisfactory completion of the fellowship program.

At Houston Methodist, the Senior Medical Assistant Certified (Sr. MA) position is responsible for functioning as an expert and demonstrates highly competent knowledge in the more technical and advances examinations and treatments necessary to communicate appropriately and carry out delegated medical assistant level tasks under the direct supervision of a Physician and/or Registered Nurse for assigned patient populations, for providing high quality support of patient care and services. This position oversees appropriate scope of practice (i.e. Hand Hygiene Validator, EMR super-user). The Sr. MA position assists with patient examinations, procedures, diagnostic studies, treatment, and dressing changes. This position also performs general administrative duties in accordance with CLIA, HIPAA, NCQA and government standards, as well as company policies and procedures. The Sr. MA position participates in patient care which is under the direction of a physician and within the scope of a medical assistant. This position may also be required to schedule patient appointments, ensure medical necessity compliance, and verify eligibility for care. Other duties for the Sr. MA position include independently and expertly performing the duties and responsibilities of preceptor and clinical resource to Medical Assistants, training and orienting others as appropriate.
