The Medical Surgical (MS) Registered Nurse (RN) will represent International SOS and provide comprehensive health services to DOS, DOD, and contractor personnel stationed in Iraq.   MSRN will use a holistic approach to care for patients who require acute medical or surgical interventions. The nurse will be accountable clinically for ensuring nursing care compliance within accepted standards of care and clinical practice. The MSRN will use clinical judgment in assessing, planning, implementing, documenting, and evaluating patient care in variety of settings where conditions or injury requires close monitoring and at times quick intervention. The Nurse functions both dependently and independently within guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee.  Key Responsibilities:Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans based on patient needs and physicians' orders. Monitor and document patients' vital signs, symptoms, and progress, and report any changes to the medical team. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians and specialists, to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes. Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-operative care. Provide wound care, manage drains, and assist with daily living activities as needed. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, adhering to infection control standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety. Stay current with best nursing practices and participate in ongoing professional development. Maintain compliance with all project site procedures, standards, and continuing educational and mandatory training requirements. This list is non-exhaustive, and the role holder may be required to undertake additional duties that are not specifically listed above.
