Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Controller in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will oversee all accounting, transaction systems, treasury functions, financial reporting, and internal control processes for our organization. You will play a pivotal role in financial statement preparation and analysis, corporate reporting, SOX compliance, and cash management in a multi-site, multi-currency environment. Responsibilities: Manage global accounting functions of the company. Ensure timely recording and reconciliation of all intercompany transactions each period end. Establish, monitor, and enforce internal controls to protect assets and assure SOX compliance. Support the development of SG& A budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data, and recommending spending & cost control plans. Provide status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data. Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports, and advising management on needed actions. Assure compliance with tax regulations in all jurisdictions and assure statutory filings are accurately completed. Oversee entries into the accounting systems in the company’s local Syteline software. Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results. Develop financial staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members. Maintain financial staff effectiveness by coaching, counseling, and disciplining team members, planning, monitoring, and appraising job results. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies. Ensure the organization’s accounting system complies with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Sarbanes Oxley, and legislative requirements. Lead the department’s management team in all aspects of the General Ledger Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, month-end closing, and quarterly reporting. Lead any ERP integration due to acquisitions. A minimum of five years of experience in financial management or related roles. Proven ability to manage and lead a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proven experience in financial risk management. Strong decision making and problem-solving skills. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
