Parts Department Associate

Job Summary:

The Parts Department Associate is responsible for managing inventory, and facilitating the efficient procurement and distribution of parts and supplies. This role requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Servicing Technicians:

Assist identifying and locating parts and supplies.

Process orders and inquiries.

Provide accurate information on parts availability, pricing, and delivery times.

Inventory Management:

Monitor and maintain inventory levels to ensure adequate stock.

Conduct regular inventory checks and reconcile discrepancies.

Receive and inspect incoming shipments, ensuring parts meet quality standards.

Order Processing:

Accurately enter and process parts orders into the inventory system.

Prepare and package parts for shipment or delivery.

Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers for special orders or back-ordered items.

Documentation and Record Keeping:

Maintain detailed records of parts transactions, including sales, returns, and adjustments.

Generate reports on inventory levels, sales, and other key metrics as required.

Warehouse Management:

Organize and stock parts in the warehouse or storage areas.

Ensure the workspace is clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations.

Assist with the setup and maintenance of shelving and storage systems.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other department staff to ensure seamless operations.

Support the Parts Department Manager in various tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in diesel engine parts or inventory management is a plus.

Previous experience in a parts department environment preferred.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Ability to lift and move heavy items as needed.
