Merchandise Accounting Specialist

Job Title: Merchandise Accounting SpecialistJob DescriptionAs a Merchandise Accounting Specialist, you will conduct thorough research and analysis to support merchandising accounting activities. You will collaborate closely with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting. Your role will involve assisting in closing the accounts receivable gap, preparing and reviewing financial statements, monitoring and reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate documentation of all accounting activities.Responsibilities

Conduct thorough research and analysis to support merchandising accounting activities.

Collaborate closely with vendors to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate financial reporting.

Assist in closing the accounts receivable gap by identifying and addressing outstanding receivables.

Prepare and review financial statements, reports, and records to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.

Monitor and reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Provide insights and recommendations to improve accounting processes and vendor relationships.

Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all accounting activities.

Assist with audits and other financial reviews as needed.

Communicate with vendors to clarify invoice submission procedures and ensure compliance.

Guide vendors on the correct process for submitting invoices and resolving any related issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a retail or merchandising environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment with a high level of accuracy.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Understanding of how Universal Product Codes (UPCs) are generated and submitted.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
