Essential ResponsibilitiesInstallation, modification and repair of automated industrial control equipmentStrong understanding of software utilized within programmable logic control (PLC) systemsDesign, plan, install and maintain industrial control equipment and instrumentation such as loop controller, variable frequency drives, solid state reduced voltage starters, level controls, ethernet motor controls centers, belt scales, and control panelsThorough understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systemsMust be available to work off shifts, weekends and holidays as neededAssists in routine planned maintenance and emergency repairs of plant equipment including conveyors, bucket elevators, and washing / drying equipmentTroubleshoot mechanical equipment, PLC's and ladder diagrams, AC and DC circuits, electrical sensors and switches, motor controls and , safety circuitsInstall, troubleshoot and repair electric motors and equipment (120, 240 and 480V)Knowledge of basic hand tools and machine shop equipment, the proper use of all electrical test equipment used to perform electrical / electronic repairs of production equipmentComplete preventive maintenance tasks as scheduled and document finished workContact vendors to source replacement components for all electrical / electronic equipmentMay drive a pick-up truck or maintenance vehicle in the plant and / or to pick-up parts from local vendorsOther duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredAssociates degree preferredJourneyman Electrician License preferredFour years combined schooling and industrial experience requiredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong machine electrical backgroundI / O knowledge (hardwired / discrete, digital / ethernet, and analog) and the ability to read electrical schematicsProven PLC troubleshooting experience - Allen Bradley RS 5000 a must, with networking (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.) experience desired.
