Pay rates will be determined by project and location.ABOUT THE JOBAs an Apprentice Electrician, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation and repair of complex electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems working from a blueprint.Job responsibilities include :Assist in completing layouts, pads, sleeves, underground runs, electrical rooms, and equipment roomsAssist Electricians in the performance of assigned dutiesEnsure equipment is in proper working conditionAssist in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, lighting systems, apparatuses, fixtures, and equipmentBecome familiar with technical diagrams and blueprints for each projectAssist in performing general electrical maintenanceAssist in inspecting and maintaining transformer and circuit breakers and other electrical componentsAssist in troubleshooting electrical issues using appropriate testing devicesAssisting in repairing and replacing equipment, electrical wiring, and fixturesLearn to comply with National Electrical Code, state, and local building regulationsPrepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through themAssist in installing safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit-breaker panels, etc.)Assist in connecting wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of componentsAssist in troubleshooting damaged systems and units to identify hazards or malfunctions; repair or substitute damaged unitsEnsure safe installation practices are followedWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORHigh School diploma or GEDA minimum of 3 years' experience as an Apprentice ElectricianCompletion of an electrician apprenticeshipExperience in operating hand tools, and power toolsMust have a working knowledge of various test equipmentMust have a knowledge of electrical systems, power generation, blueprints, and maintenance and repairMust be able to communicate clearly with Superintendents, Operators, Laborers, and all other personnel on siteMust be able to understand, read, and write in EnglishMust be able gain an understanding of how to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and written instructionsMust be able gain a working knowledge of the National Electric Code, and applicable Unified Facilities Guide Specifications and Unified Facilities CriteriaMust be able to assist in troubleshooting and have a strong attention to detailMust have physical dexterityMust be able to work in elevated areasMust be able to pass a background check required to access US military installationsMust have a valid driver's license
