Level II Trauma and Magnet facility is looking for a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for our fast-paced, busy OR?Sign-On for Eligible New HiresWork Location: The address is 6200 W Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75093Schedule: Full-Time | 32 Hours/ week | Night Shift | 10:30 PM – 7 AM On-call and weekends requiredSurgery Department highlights:· Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team· Renovating 9 OR Suites and integrating new technology· Fast-Paced, high-volume department· Promotes within· Education and growth opportunities for all interested· High Retention/Low turn over in this departmentHere's What You Need :· High School Diploma or equivalent required (and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009) OR· Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology required upon hire· Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, Vocational Nurse Program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology preferred upon hire· Other- CLIAFE Must comply with CLIA regulations regarding foreign education equivalency required· One year Certified Surgery Tech (CST) Required· One year of Operating Room (OR) experience strongly preferred· CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate of an accredited surgical tech program Upon Hire Req Or· CST - Certified Surgical Technologist and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009 Upon Hire Req Or· CST - Certified Surgical Technologist graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology Upon Hire Req Or· LVN - Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Req And· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly Upon Hire ReqWhat You Will Do:· Nursing Process: Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes Infants, Pediatrics, Adults, and Geriatrics. Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating plan of care.· Professional accountability: Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively and assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior in order to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.· Post-operatively follows proper procedures for care of instruments, supplies and equipment.
