We are expanding our Trauma program and Comprehensive Stroke Center and have opportunities for you to be a part of a solid, cohesive ICU familyWORK LOCATION : The address is 6200 W Parker Rd, Plano, TX 75093SCHEDULE: Full Time Days (7A-7P) for 36 hrs./ week. Weekend and holiday requirementsICU Department Highlights:The ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Licensed Vocational Nurse position requires a high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast-paced environment. Modified self-scheduling with 30 beds Our ICU Unit is devoted to intensive care for the region’s most critically ill patients. Our intensivist program puts the care of ICU patients under the guidance of board-certified critical care physicians, who directly oversee patient care in the ICU throughout the day. Physicians are available 24 hours. Critical care nurses, nurse practitioners and physician assistants — all trained in critical care medicine — help provide care in the ICU around the clock. Beacon Gold ICU level of excellence by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses in 2015, 2018, and 2022QUALIFICATIONS:· Graduate of an accredited vocational nursing program required· 6 months in an acute care Hospital setting or completion of THR Residency program· LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse Upon Hire Required· BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Upon—prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterlyWHAT YOU WILL NEED DO:· Collaborates with team to facilitate hourly rounding and initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.· Takes action to reduce/eliminate patient risks.· Collects data and reports significant findings to RN.· Safely administers medication in accordance with medication administration guidelines.· Uses nursing model to obtain adequate data to initiate, implement, and revise plan of care to meet patient, physician, and family needs.· Individualizes care measures to reflect specific patient population.
