Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are in search of an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the payment cycle activities within the accounting department in the medical research industry. This will include handling invoices, maintaining vendor records, and contributing to the improvement of processes within the accounts payable function.Responsibilities: Efficiently process customer credit applications and encode invoices using Great Plains. Manage daily accounts payable tasks such as maintaining G/L accounts and checking cost allocations. Review and coordinate vendor invoices, ensuring adherence to contract terms and policy compliance. Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system invoices to balances. Ensure successful payment of invoices by examining associated forms and invoices for conformity to procedure requirements. Investigate and resolve potential discrepancies, conducting research and applying corrective actions where needed. Maintain accurate vendor records, updating financial information as needed. Prepare various reports to support financial analysis and audit requirements. Contribute to the improvement of processes within the accounts payable function.
