Description We are seeking a meticulous Cost Accountant to join our team based in San Antonio, Texas. In this role, you will assist in various cost and inventory accounting functions, provide period-end reporting, and perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluation. You will also be involved in auditing and improving inventory processes, conducting regular inventory counts, and assisting with special projects.Responsibilities: Assist in managing all aspects of daily, monthly, and annual cost/inventory accounting functions. Ensure accuracy and valuation of inventory through period-end reporting. Generate daily, monthly inventory reporting schedules and identify trends or significant fluctuations in inventory. Perform annual cost roll and inventory revaluations, collaborating with purchasing and operations management to enhance the accuracy of cost components. Calculate and analyze costs of manufactured goods, reporting cost and variance trends. Conduct audits on overall inventory operational processes and recommend controls and procedures to improve the inventory process and decrease inventory adjustments. Reconcile and analyze produced units vs. warehouse receipt on a daily, weekly, and period-end basis. Conduct regular inventory counts, record count results and discrepancies, and communicate count results to management. Compare retail store inventory receipts, sales, transfers, and returns to perpetual inventory to minimize retail store gain and loss. Develop and document processes that enhance inventory flow, transparency, and best practices. Support and assist finance, factory, and warehouse with special projects. Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field. A minimum of 2 years of experience in cost accounting or a similar role. Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Crystal Reports, and Epicor. Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning. Strong understanding of accounting functions and accounts payable (AP). Experience in auditing, budget processes, and cash activity management. Expertise in cost accounting, particularly in a manufacturing environment. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards.
