RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in search of a talented Database Administrator (DBA) in San Antonio, TX.
Summary:
The Database Administrator is responsible for the integrity, security administration and performance of databases in production and development environments.
Responsibilities:
Database Administrator will monitor database performance and resources to provide an appropriate level of service
Configure systems and perform database refreshes as required to support development, quality assurance and training environments
Design, implement, test and monitor database backup and recovery procedures
As a Database Administrator, you will design and implement systems which provide acceptable levels of service, availability, and security
Maintain database security by maintaining user accounts with appropriate access roles authentication
Maintain database licenses, upgrades, and patches
Availability for after-hours/weekend support and maintenance activities
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Mathematics or technology related field or three years of experience with database administration
Minimum three years of experience supporting Oracle databases (12c-19c)
Familiarity with Oracle's Multitenant Architecture
Knowledge of Oracle Wallet setup and management
Knowledge of Oracle's performance views and DBA
management views (not currently an Oracle Enterprise Manager shop)
Experience supporting Oracle Data Guard
Extensive knowledge of transferring data via Oracle Data Pump
Knowledge of Oracle client connection setup files (TNSNAMES.ORA and SQLNET.ORA)
Experience in SQL query tuning in Oracle
Extensive knowledge of Linux shell scripting and crontab management
Knowledge of SQL Server management (all supported versions)
Skilled in supporting SQL Server Availability Groups
Ability to tune SQL Server query and instance performance
Extensive T-SQL Script knowledge for SQL Server
Knowledge of Oracle/SQL Server physical storage
Familiarity with Windows/Linux platforms to include storage, services, and job scheduling
Knowledge of Perl scripting language a plus
Knowledge of techniques for managing databases from the command line in Windows/Linux a big plus
