Sirak Woodworking is looking to hire an experienced woodworker who can operate a CNC machine. This is a full-time job, 40 hrs. a week, that offers competitive pay. Job responsibilities and hourly commitment can vary some based-on applicants needs and experience.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of experience in a woodshop and as a CNC operator. Shop experience with woodworking machines and how to use them safely as well as basic shop etiquette is a must. Woodworking responsibilities include millwork, sanding, cabinet/furniture fabrication, cabinet installation. Preference will be given to those who have completed woodworking apprentice programs, certificates, or equivalent.
Other qualifications include the ability to work independently on individual projects and the ability to read and comprehend blueprints/shop drawings. A background with Sketch-up or other design software is a plus. Must have reliable transportation.
CNC duties and responsibilities
Studying materials and specifications
Reading and interpreting blueprints and mechanical drawings
Translating instructions into computer commands
Setting up and installing tools and attachments
Calculating requirements
Preparing and loading raw materials on to the machine
Planning stock inventory and ordering parts
Documenting actions
Conducting machinery checking on a daily basis
Following safety procedures and regulations
Supervising the machines
