Magnet CoordinatorJob DescriptionPurpose & Scope:In collaboration with clinical and administrative leadership, assumes responsibility for coordinating all aspects of the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet application, designation, and re-designation process. Serves as the Magnet advisor to the leadership team, liaison to the ANCC Magnet office, chair of the Shared Governance Coordinating Council, and functions as a multidepartment liaison and consultative resource for administration, nursing, non-nursing employees, physicians, and community. Individual will maintain the regulatory standards for patient care and nursing practice established by National Database of Nursing Quality Indicators (NDNQI). and maintain the professional standards required to Magnet Designation as set forth by the ANCC. It is expected that this coordinator will assist staff to evaluate evidence relative to regional and national benchmarks and regulatory standards. The coordinator must be able to facilitate the collection, reporting, interpretation and timely communication of outcome data as well as interpret ANCC Magnet data requests and feedback provided during review process. Individual will promote nursing excellence, recognition, empowerment through shared governance, and professional development of nurses.Education:Bachelors degree in Nursing is required.Master's degree is preferred.Experience:Five years of healthcare/medical - nursing patient care experience is required.Research knowledge is preferred.Exposure to current Magnet Standards is required.Certification/Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing is required.
