job detailsjob summary:We are looking for a Software Developer to join our growing development team! This role will be a critical and collaborative resource for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining products that are deployed on-prem, in the cloud, and at customer edge locations. Our ideal candidate will be energized by our fast-paced startup environment, demonstrates sound software engineering principles, and excels with fundamental Java usage. Here's what you'll be doing:
Active hands-on development of APIs, backend, and UI for media/ broadcasting products
Design, develop, test, and maintain code using open-source tools, software in product development.
Perform code reviews and verify implementation of system and software requirements.
Review and analyze existing code base to decipher business logic and add new functionality as needed.
Accountable for software changes being thoroughly tested, accepted, and that hot fixes (changes made during testing) do not adversely affect systems and software performance.
Participate in story grooming/refinement sessions with Product Owners, leveraging knowledge of the platform to clarify requirements.
Work with internal and external teams interfacing with client/customers.
Participate in Creating development process, structure, and toolchain required for development teams.
Contribute to the ongoing learning and success of the team, and the company, by sharing knowledge through mentorship, collaboration, and aiding in the documentation.
Participate in the creation of Security Standards ensuring standards; strike an appropriate balance between security and functionality of our products.
Document your technical work and research to help your colleagues, improve the product, and improve the support experience.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems.
5+ years of hands-on software development experience using open standards for software frameworks and complex IT technologies.
Highly experienced with Go, Node.js, AWS, or REACT.
Experience with some or all the following technologies: Java, Python3, PostgreSQL, Vue.js, webpack, SpringBoot, Bootstrap, Web sockets, Git, Docker, Kubernetes, Mochas.
Experience with Web APIs (client & server), sql/no-sql databases, and cloud architecture.
Understanding of modern application architectures - three tier, distributed, centralized, microservices, etc. with experience in RESTful APIs.
Familiar with database products such as mySQL, postgres, mongoDB, and Elasticsearch.
Comfortable with Linux OS for application troubleshooting and tracking issues.
Skilled at writing scripts (bash, python, Perl, PowerShell) to automate tasks and troubleshoot bugs.
Comfortable with Jira and Atlassian platforms for project management, documentation, wikis, etc.

Conduct thorough code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and mentor junior developers to improve code quality and maintainability.
Performance Optimization:
Identify and address performance bottlenecks across the application stack.
Implement caching mechanisms, optimize database queries, and best practices for minimizing latency.
Security and Compliance:
Implement security best practices, including data encryption, authentication, and authorization.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
