Then Serco has a great opportunity for you!Join our integrated government-industry team as aNavy Launching Systems Production Management Specialist in the National Landing (Crystal City) area of Arlington, VA where you will help support program office tasking related to acquiring complex Naval launching systems. Bring your expertise and collaborative skills to positively impact our national defense and make a difference in the world’s greatest Navy.Serco provides technical support to its customer, a defense acquisition program management office, which is responsible for the development, acquisition, production, fielding, and lifetime support oflifetime support of critical surface ship launching systems. This position has aspects of defense acquisition management, systems engineering, software program management, and other related skills.In this role you will:

Manage schedules and plans of action related to system acquisition and contract development.

Assist in program office management of projects, tracking progress against schedules, managing tasking and funding of supporting organizations, driving and coordinating accomplishment of actions, coordinating the development of proposed solutions to issues, managing risk, supporting meetings, and providing critical analysis of acquisition processes and progress on behalf of the government program management office.

Support milestone reviews, budget management, and coordination with Navy field activities, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and support organizations on behalf of the program office.

Translate system specifications to contract requirements for assigned programs.

Review Technical Data Packages (TDP) and other documentation for completeness.

Manage TDP deliveries to prospective manufacturers.

Manage production related Government Furnished Equipment, Property, and Information (GFE/GFP/GFI).

Maintain inventories and conduct audits when required.

Review technical proposals for compliance with solicitation specifications and requirements.

Become well-versed in the defense acquisition process and areas relating to acquisition policy and best practices including acquisition streamlining and be able to apply that knowledge and experience in assisting with contract development for actual programs.

Support senior government personnel and project managers in various acquisition management activities related to product development, production, or support.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will have:

An active Secret clearance

US Citizenship

A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.

7 years of experience (Experience with Navy launching systems production management or similar highly preferred)

Work experience may be adjusted based on an advanced degree.

Knowledge of defense acquisition and contracting principles and practices.

Advanced internal team communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite programs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work a Hybrid Schedule (3 days in office, 2 days telework depending on customer needs)

The ability to travel at least 10% of the time.

Additional desired experience and skills:

Familiar with new acquisition practices such as rapid acquisition, DEV/SEC/OPS, use of collaboration tools, and data analytics in support of the program office.

Previous government program office experience desired.

Experience in surface ship launchers and canisters is desired.
