Description Robert Half is looking to hire an Accounting Clerk for a reputable company in the construction/contractor industry. Serving in this role, you will be responsible for multiple forms of data entry, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and playing an integral role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a short-term contract / contract position located in the Chesapeake, Virginia area.Major responsibilities
Assist Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing
Circulate financial information to journals and ledgers
Assemble statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
Work with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, help with collection of past due balance, and process daily invoices/credit
Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Assemble documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes Requirements - Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
1+ years of relevant experience
Expertise in ordering office supplies and equipment
Foundational knowledge in Enter Vendor Invoices
Invoice reconciliation experience highly desired
Adeptness in account reconciliation
Answering Multi-Line Phone System experience desired
Strong familiarity with data entry
