Calibration Technician

Description:Perform installations, calibrations and repairs at customers’ sites representing all types of industries to include: Chemical, Petrol-Chemical, Aggregate, Shipping, Pharmaceutical, and other manufacturing industries. Local customers include American Borate, APG and Barton Mines!The weighing equipment we support is from Grams to Tons. The work is performed on laboratory balances all the way up to truck scales and railroad track scales. This work is performed at the customers’ site and the environment can vary depending on where the equipment is located. The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and extreme weather conditions.Essential Job FunctionsTroubleshoots and repairs industry related products without assistance as skills and training permit.Performs calibrations and preventative maintenance duties.May be required to drive a heavy duty test truckComplete and turn in work orders daily and time sheets weekly to appropriate person.Complies with ISO standards as required.Ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that PM work at assigned account is completed on time.Follow prescribed procedures for purchases, meetings, compliance with DOT, company policies, etc.Make sure vehicle service and maintenance requirements are met.Willingness to work overtime and on a rotating on-call schedule.Performs all jobs and tasks in a safe manner on a consistent basis.Able to frequently lift heavy objects, 50 lb test weights and other equipment, up to 100lbs. This may also include lifting heavy objects while climbing, bending, stooping, reaching, etc.Able to efficiently use all types of hand tools, power tools and hydraulic controlled devices.Able to drive extended hours with few breaks up to eight hours a day.May be required to have or be able to obtain a CDL (Commercial Drivers License)Read digital and analog indicated meters and weighing devices.Must have good verbal and written communication skills.Must have good mechanical aptitude and knowledge of electrical theory.Able to perform the essential job functions in confined, cold, wet, hot, and humid conditions as well as a combination of these.Able to recognize and plan for specific safety hazards related to specific jobs and tasks.Skills:installation, inspection, calibration, repair, maintenance, multimeter, industrial scales, measuring equipment, class B cdl, computer skills, physical labor, documentation, standard calibration, CalibrationTop Skills Details:installation, inspection, calibration, repair, maintenance, multimeter, industrial scales, measuring equipment, class B cdl, computer skills, physical labor, documentation, standard calibrationAdditional Skills & Qualifications:Must possess or willing and able to obtain Class B CDL within 6 months from hireMust be proficient using and reading a multimeter and previous experience/knowledge of load cells is preferred but not required.Must be physically able to lift between 50 - 100 lbs. consistentlyHighly motivated team player committed to personal, customer and company successElectro-Mechanical backgroundMust be in good physical conditionStrong math and communication skillsBasic computer knowledgeGood communication skills and ability to build strong customer relationsElectronics formalized training or equivalent military experience is a plusExperience Level:Entry LevelAbout Aerotek:We know that a company's success starts with its employees.
