JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum one year experience preparing IV medications
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to effectively solve problems
Working knowledge of hazardous waste handling
Ability to attend to detail and strong organizational skills
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Prepares various special IV admixtures such as immune globulins.
Operates automated medication distribution system.
Prepackages and labels liquid and solid medications from bulk stock for unit dose distribution or to shelf size containers; repackages unit dose packages for use in the automated distribution system; maintains an adequate inventory.
Delivers and exchanges cart-fill envelopes to nursing units at scheduled times; removes medication from medication cart on floor when patients are discharged.
Cleans and sanitizes the work area and equipment used.
Coordinates the delivery of medications within the hospital and to outside facilities
