Job SummaryAssists the manager with the activities of surgical team. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patient in the specific age range on their assigned nursing unit. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to system and unit specific Service Standards.Job Duties
Assists the manager with the activities of surgical team and ancillary personnel.
Supervises assigned personnel when delegated by the manager in his or her absence.
Provides input to assist the clinical registered nurse team coordinator with preparing and submitting reports.
Assists with monitoring inventory and maintaining supplies for assigned service.
Assists manager with supervising proper use and care of equipment, instruments and supplies.
Assists the Equipment Technician with maintenance and repair of equipment and instruments.
Participates in the evaluation of new equipment.
Provides in-services on new products and equipment.
Evaluates operations and recommends changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Assists the manager with instrument standardization and central sterile supply updates.
Actively participates in Surgical Time and out and operating room briefing.
Helps coordinate activities with other teams, sections and departments Assures adherence to regulatory agency requirements, safety standards and infection control procedures.
Assumes Coordinator responsibilities as assigned.
