Amentum is actively seeking an Engineering Technician to perform work as a US Naval Ships' Main Steam Propulsion Support Specialist. The position will be located at the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia.Job responsibilities:
Provide support for various assessments and technical assistance. The following is a list of possible equipment and services to be supported. This is not an all-inclusive list and is subject to change: US Automatic Boiler Control Systems, Main/Auxiliary/Waste Heat Boilers, Main Feed Systems, Main Shaft Seals, Line Shaft Bearings, Main Reduction Gears, and Vibration Analysis on Navy Ships
Conduct inspections and/or assessment of current ship conditions
Evaluate the findings of the inspections and/or assessments and determine away ahead to correct the current situation in supporting Steam Main Propulsion, Automatic Boiler Control Systems, Main/Auxiliary/Waste Heat Boilers, Main Feed Systems, Main Shaft Seals, Line Shaft Bearings, Main Reduction Gears, and Vibration Analysis
Minimum requirements: Primary skills required are in condition-based maintenance assessment repair and maintenance of Main Steam Propulsion Support on US Naval ships.
Have knowledge about US Naval Ships' team Main Propulsion Support on Navy Ships
Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits
Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes
Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance
