ResponsibilitiesSurface Maintenance and Engineering Planning Program (SURFMEPP) provides centralized surface ship life cycle maintenance engineering, and class maintenance planning and management. SURFMEPP’s primary mission is to maintain and modernize in-service ships throughout the ship’s expected service life focusing on a complete, well-engineered, and continuously improving Class Maintenance Plan (CMP).SURFMEPP’s System Engineers provide database management for assigned systems in M&SWP. The Propulsion Systems Engineer will update existing maintenance tasks and create new maintenance tasks to support maintenance on shipboard propulsion systems for the Navy’s Surface Ship Fleet. They will develop, track, and manage material requirements for mandatory Class Maintenance Plan tasks for various hulls and availabilities under the guidance of senior personnel, and will attend meetings and communicate with relevant stakeholders to provide comments, recommendations, and follow-up on issues and topics relevant to propulsion systems.Required Qualifications Bachelors degree in a related filed.
