Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Millwork Estimating Assistant to support our estimating team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for systems and processes, coupled with strong mathematical skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively. This role will play a crucial part in the estimation process, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our project bids.
Responsibilities:
-Utilizing the ERP system to upload bid documents, schedules, and information to keep schedule up to date and gather additional information as requested from contractors to make a bidding decision.
-Review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to gather necessary information to assist estimators in completing an accurate and complete takeoff.
-Research and source pricing for materials from suppliers and vendors using ERP tools.
-Input data into ERP system to maintain the accuracy of pricing within the system.
-Maintain organized records of project documents, estimates, and revisions within the ERP system.
-Assist in preparing and submitting bids to clients within specified deadlines, using ERP-generated reports.
-Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and other team members to understand project scope and requirements when a project has been awarded.
-Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to ensure clear understanding of project requirements.
Requirements:
-High school diploma or equivalent
-Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform accurate calculations.
-Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
-Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
-Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Not required, but a plus:
-Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the millwork, woodworking, or construction industry.
-Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
-Experience working with ERP software for estimating and project management (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, etc.).
-Knowledge of millwork materials, processes, and industry standards.
