Assistant Controller

Description The Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing accounting and financial reporting, including overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and treasury management. The role involves audit and tax preparation, as well as streamlining processes and implementing new technologies to support a growing company. Working closely with various team members and reporting to the CEO, the position requires independence, proactive problem-solving, and strategic thinking. The ideal candidate will also guide and review the work of other staff and help develop new procedures.Requirements Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field

5+ years of accounting experience (including internships), with at least 2 years under CPA supervision

Experience managing bookkeepers and junior accounting staff

Advanced skills in accounting and ERP software (e.g., QuickBooks Enterprise or NetSuite)

Proficient in advanced Excel

Experience managing cash flow and financial models

Experience working with auditors

Strong visual and written communication skills

Systems-oriented, curious thinker with a focus on continuous improvement

Experience in financial reporting, variance analysis, and preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports (for management and tax)

Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced startup environment

Relevant experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, real estate, infrastructure development, civil construction, or energy

Experience in startup or emerging industries, including building accounting teams from scratch
