Construction Project Manager

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Construction Project Manager located in Richmond, California. This role involves providing administrative assistance in the construction industry, specifically assisting Project Managers with the administration of construction projects. The workplace is dynamic and requires meticulous organization and detail-oriented skills.Responsibilities:

Organize, maintain, and manage project control records and documents, including Request for Information (RFI's), submittals, change order requests, subcontracts, and subcontract change orders among others.

Participate in reviewing and assessing submittal content, ensuring their completeness and accuracy before presentation to the project design team.

Collaborate with project superintendents in orchestrating orders related to construction and jobsite indispensables, managing minor job office dilemmas, and liaising with city and other relevant agencies concerning issues like street and sidewalk closures.

Advance timely completion of tasks by aiding the subcontractors and the design team in meeting project communication deadlines, including RFI’s, bulletins, ASI’s, value engineering requests, change requests, project conclusion documents, punch lists, etc.

Keep track of all project permits and related expiration dates, arranging for inspections as necessary.

Categorize, file, and access project communications and distribution records.

Support the field team in creating 3-week look ahead schedules.

Participate in Owner/Architect/Contractor project meetings, tasking with documenting the minutes for review.

Attend field meetings in proper construction attire, including sturdy shoes and hardhats.

Collaborate with the Assurance Coordinator to confirm that insurance and bonds are up-to-date and accurate.

Fulfil other administrative responsibilities as required.

Requirements

Capable of professionally representing our company to clients and subcontractors through written communication, personal interaction, phone calls, or video conferences.

General understanding of construction processes and standard operational sequences.

Comprehension of bidding procedures, coupled with effective communication of bidding information to all involved parties.

Ability to read, interpret and understand project documents i.e. plans, ASI’s, bulletins, SK’s, punch lists to determine the next steps in distribution, inquiry, pricing, supervision, and briefing the team.

Excellent organizational skills and an ability to work from evolving document logs.

Solid expertise with ProCore, with an ability to generate and track RFI’s, submittals, change events, potential change orders, commitments, commitment change orders, drawings etc. within the platform.

Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word), and adeptness with Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat. Prior experience with PlanGrid Software and MS Project is an advantage.

Comfortable and safe navigation around the jobsite – able to recognize and avoid hazards, climb ladders and scaffolding, and heed direction from others.

Experience in Construction Project Management (CPM) scheduling methods and construction estimating is desirable.
