The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. A very involved position, this role produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will also communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, play an active role in compliance, and review schedules for the reporting processes.Your responsibilities
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Commentate on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Assist in monthly financial close workbook preparation, including annual closing process
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Create monthly statement analysis to be used for management reportings
Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll Requirements - Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Great attention to detail
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Outstanding organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Experience with account reconciliation
Strong familiarity with Microsoft Excel
General ledger experience required
Ad Hoc Analysis experience
Journal entries experience
Recent and relevant accounting experience
