Shaper Operator (South Richmond, VA)
Compensation: Based on Experience
Blair-Dumond, Inc., a leader in Custom Architectural Woodwork & Cabinetry, is currently recruiting a full time position for Shaper Operator in our Richmond, VA facility.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Shaper experience required
Perform setting up, operating, and safely maintaining machines on daily basis
Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds minimum
Knife grinding experience: sharpen and grind new knives as needed
Follow safety guidelines and comply with OSHA (Occupational and Safety Health Act) requirements
Follow all lock out/tag out procedures
Report all problems to supervisor or technician
Willing to perform other duties assigned by Supervisor/Management
Template making
Qualifications:
2 year experience running a shaper, table saw, rip saw, sanders and other equipment
Stable Work History
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Must have good knowledge of wood types, pays attention to detail and maintain quality standards
Must have ability to read architectural drawings/blueprints
Must be self-motivated and willing to work as a team player
Must have good communication skills
Perform essential job functions with moderate accommodations
Knowledge of basic math
Must have reliable transportation to and from work
Successfully complete pre-employment drug screen
Background check required
