Job Title: Utilities Project ManagerJob DescriptionOur client is seeking a Project Manager with experience in civil construction. The Project Manager will manage all civil projects throughout the Hampton Roads area. Responsibilities include customer interface and ensuring customer satisfaction; developing means and methods; analyzing and competitively purchasing subcontractor services and material purchases; reviewing proposed designs for constructability and value-engineering; conducting contract negotiations; creating, updating, and enforcing project schedules; problem-solving; coordinating project meetings as needed; keeping project records and documents; managing project costs; handling change orders, managing submittals, and other necessary project documents; and physically inspecting projects to monitor progress and compliance with project standards.Hard Skills
B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience
5 years of industry experience, preferably in civil utility construction (water, sewage, and drainage)
Extensive experience and knowledge of construction estimating, means and methods, accounting, document administration, and a thorough understanding of industry practices
Experience with construction industry scheduling software
Previous experience managing employees preferred
