Description We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This role involves thorough review and management of accounting activities, including operational support for various business functions. As a Sr. Accountant, you will be responsible for managing the Fixed Asset system, overseeing Debt and third-party payments, and providing support for asset acquisition and disposition.Responsibilities: Oversee operational activities such as revenue and expense variance analysis, and processing journal entries Review and manage the Fixed Asset system, including capitalization policies, depreciation calculations, and analytics Conduct thorough review of staff accountants' work and variance explanations to ensure adherence to monthly reporting and operational deadlines Handle Utilities including accruals, payments, exceptions, and maintaining relationships with vendors and Corporate Review and approve intercompany balances and billback wires Oversee all Debt and third-party payments, accruals, lender reporting, analytics, and document compliance Liaise with lending institutions and/or joint venture partners Assist with internal and external audits Provide support for asset acquisition and disposition Assess financial risk for prospective retail tenants.Interested candidates please contact Tamara Young 757-981-0974Requirements The applicant must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Sr. Accountant. Proficiency in Account Reconciliation is mandatory. The candidate should have experience in Balance Sheet Reconciliation. Experience with Bank Reconciliations is required. The applicant must be adept at managing the General Ledger. The ability to handle Journal Entries is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. The candidate should be well-versed with Month End Close procedures. Knowledge of Oracle software is mandatory. Experience with SAP software is a must. The candidate should have experience with Accruals. A strong understanding of Accrual Accounting is necessary.
