Job Purpose:
Harvesting wine grapes for an estate winery. Harvest usually begins in early August through October, but we may be able to accommodate early applicants. We are seeking 6 positions currently.
Our rate for seasonal vineyard work is $18, then, starting in August we increase the rate to $20 for the duration of harvest ( Aug. - Oct.) This posting is for the "harvest crew", however, we may be able to accommodate early applications

Duties:
- carefully harvesting grapes as part of a harvest team.
- work at the direction of our vineyard foreman to prepare, clean, and harvest wine grapes.
- removal of leaves to make harvesting easier.
- setting bird netting then later gathering and placing it into storage for the winter.
- carrying picking baskets to place fruit in larger bins.
- flexibility working weekends. we try not to work weekends but there are times when we must harvest.
- days when we are not harvesting maybe but used cleaning the vineyard property or physically weeding. Overtime is paid on weeks over 40 hours as per state law.
Skills/Qualifications:
- experience would be desirable but not necessary.
- Working early hours, to avoid the heat of the day.
- work includes kneeling, bending at the waist, lifting and carrying up to 50#, and working in cool temperatures as well as 90-degree temperatures.
- employees must have closed-toe shoes, gardening gloves, and long pants and we recommend a hat for shade.
- drinking water, pruners, masks, and implements provided by the employer.
- must be legally able to work in the US.
