Mountainview Daycare Nutrition Program is hiring a Part-Time Bookkeeper.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records & payroll, managing daily accounting tasks, and ensuring our financial operations run smoothly.
About Our Company
Mountainview Daycare Nutrition Program (MDNP) is a non-profit agency in western Washington that reimburses home and center child cares that participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). Our focus is providing excellent oversight to help educate children in lifelong nutrition values and help Child Cares provide healthy food to the children in their care.
As a bookkeeper, you will oversee and manage financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Your key responsibilities include:
Recording Financial Transactions: Accurately record all income, expenses, and financial activities using accounting software.
Preparing Financial Statements: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Maintain monthly income/expense binders.
Payroll Processing: Manage payroll operations, including calculating wages, withholding taxes, and providing payment schedules to Director for processing. Employment tax filings monthly and quarterly are required.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Track invoices, payments, and overdue accounts while maintaining detailed accrual method records.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with internal records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Budget Monitoring: Assist in tracking budgets, identifying variances, and recommending adjustments.
Compliance and Audits: Ensure compliance with federal regulations and assist with internal or external audits.
Expense Management: Monitor expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
Tax Preparation: Collaborate with accountants to prepare and file tax returns accurately and on time.
Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or finance preferred. Small business Bookkeeping experience is a necessity.
Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including creating pivot tables and using formulas.
Position Details
Job Type: Part-Time
Hours: Approximately [20-25] hours per week, with a flexible schedule within business hours.
Compensation: $[22–25] per hour, depending on experience (DOE). Accrues Sick & Vacation hours.
Location: Onsite at business office in Arlington WA during business hours.
