We’re looking for a Collections Specialist to join our team and help manage and collect on overdue business accounts, all while maintaining our long-standing customer relationships.
About the Role:
You’ll take charge of reaching out to customers by phone and email to secure payment, resolve billing issues, and track account status. Many of our customers have been with us for years, so professionalism, patience, and strong communication skills are essential. Often, overdue balances are the result of something simple, a wrong email, a missing contact, or a preference for mailed invoices, so persistence and problem-solving are key to success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Contact customers via phone and email to collect payments on overdue accounts.
Research and resolve billing or account discrepancies.
Maintain detailed and accurate records of all communications and payment activities.
Enter and update payment data in our accounting system.
Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure customer information is accurate and current.
Preserve and strengthen positive relationships with our long-time customers.
What We’re Looking For:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Confidence and persistence in making outbound calls.
Strong attention to detail and recordkeeping.
A customer-first mindset, firm yet professional.
Proven working experience as accounts receivable clerk
Strong organization skills and ability to multi-talk and work independently
Must have experience with QuickBooks online, collections, billing, or customer service.
