Second Use Building Materials, Seattleā€™s largest architectural salvage yard, is seeking a full time staff member to work in our retail store as a Cashier and Customer Service Specialist.

Second Use is a community focused business dedicated to diverting reusable building materials from the landfill and selling them to the public at an affordable cost through our retail stores in Seattle and Tacoma.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Customer Service/Cashier Team specializes in providing excellent assistance to our customers and top tier support to the rest of our store team.

Typical work functions:

-Provide friendly and professional service to customers and suppliers

-Accurate and consistent operation of our POS system, cash registers, and database

-Visual Merchandising

-Communicate with and assist other store team members in a friendly and efficient manner

-Maintain work areas in safe and clean condition

-Possible Crossover work in other parts of the business, such as receiving, warehouse, and yard, to help with overall business needs

An ideal candidate will have these qualifications:

-An interest in architectural salvage

-Self-motivated and reliable worker

-Experience operating a cash register and POS interface

-Enthusiasm for a safe & tidy work environment

-Able/willing to put in a full day at 100%

-Able/willing to safely lift 50 lbs throughout the day

-Some knowledge of building materials and pricing preferred

-Experience with team collaboration

-Weekend availability
