We are seeking an addition to our team of five at an apartment community in north Shoreline, Washington. If you love engaging with people and have a sharp eye for detail, you might be interested in a career in apartment leasing for a 145-unit community located in Shoreline. This position is the perfect balance for someone who has a head for numbers and heart for people. Responsibilities include apartment leasing, marketing, and general office skills.
Full-Time 40 hours per week.

PURPOSE AND SCOPE
Be willing to follow directions, demonstrate the use of common sense, and good judgment, and keep the supervisor fully informed of situations or problems. Successfully handle prospective residents in the office, convey a sense of pride in the community over the phone and in person and perform clerical functions as needed in the office.
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school graduate or equivalent. This is a trainable position, though at least 1-year office and/or apartment leasing experience is preferred.
2. Computer knowledge of the following software: Office 365, MS Word, Excel, Publisher
3. Basic clerical competency to accurately process and complete the maintenance of records, bookkeeping procedures, and other accounting functions.
4. Marketing, soft sales skills (generally matching people to a place to live). Stong ability to work with people. Able to solve resident and prospective resident questions and answer to their needs. Must be able to get along with all types of people and be cordial.
5. Ability to handle emergency situations without the assistance of the Resident Manager in a calm and effective manner, and communicating with supervisors. To notify the Resident Manager immediately of all emergencies.
6. Be physically able to perform all job duties, some lifting up to 30 pounds, and be able to walk up 3 flights of stairs.
7. Concern for work-safety programs.
8. Proof of automobile insurance coverage and valid driver’s license. Must have reliable transportation.
DUTIES/CONTRIBUTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are limited to:
Meet and greet potential future residents in a professional and enthusiastic manner. Learn prospects needs by determining their needs, eligibility, and desirability and showing apartments. Have up-to-the-minute knowledge of vacancies and availability dates by using the leasing book. Follow up on all prospects.
Have complete knowledge of your apartment community. This includes knowledge of the surrounding area, schools, shopping, bus lines, and any other pertinent neighborhood information.
Be able to provide information concerning the selling points of the apartment. Know information concerning the appliances, square footage, and possible furniture placement.
Be familiar with the neighboring apartment communities in the area. Compare marketing and complete reports as designated.
Work with the Resident Manager on the advertising and marketing plan for your property.
Prepare, sign, and be able to explain the rental agreement and application in detail.
Review the application through the screening company before the applicant is approved to be offered the rental contract. Provide the manager with results as soon as available.
Maintain excellent communication with Resident Manager and keep the site communications log updated and detailed.
Prepare and maintain general office files.
Answer phone fielding future resident calls, resident maintenance problems, and other resident concerns.
Assist in coordinating and attending social activities for residents.
Introduce new residents to the on-site team and handle problems that may arise before move-in. Call the resident within two weeks after moving in to follow up.
Work with the management team to resolve resident problems.
Maintain a professional attitude at all times.
