Job Description:
The Discovery Center in Kirkland, WA is a family-owned childcare facility currently serving children ages 4 weeks to 5 years. We are looking to expand our enrollment and are interviewing for lead teacher and assistant teacher positions. Individuals who are passionate about children, have strong communication skills, and are patient, flexible and trustworthy are encouraged to apply to be part of our family. Completion of STARS trainings is preferable, but these trainings can be completed upon hire. This position requires background check/ fingerprinting. Positions are open for immediate hire.
Responsibilities:
Curriculum Planning: Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that stimulate children's cognitive, social, and emotional development.
Classroom Management: Create a positive and engaging classroom environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Instructional Delivery: Use various teaching methods to cater to different learning styles, incorporating play-based learning, storytelling, arts and crafts, music, etc.
Assessment: Monitor and assess each child's progress, providing feedback to parents or guardians, and making adjustments to the curriculum as needed.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with parents, providing updates on children's activities, progress, and addressing any concerns or questions.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
Health and Hygiene: Promote good health and hygiene practices among children, including handwashing, proper nutrition, and other essential habits.
Parent Involvement: Encourage parent involvement in their child's education through home-school activities and parent conferences.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
