OverviewAIR is currently seeking a Health Researcher with experience in Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center Payment Models to join ourHealth (https://www.air.org/our-work/health) Division. The selected candidate will join a strong team of health care and policy researchers in the practice area of Evaluation, Methods, and Analytics, which has a diversified portfolio of program implementation, technical assistance and evaluation projects, and benefit from various mentoring and learning opportunities The selected candidate will work on projects funded by Federal Agencies such as CMS and state and local governments. The selected candidate will provide policy research, evaluation, and operations support covering topics such as Medicare, Medicaid, other public health insurance programs, quality measurement, and innovative healthcare delivery and payment models.Candidates hired for the position may work remotely within the United States (U.S.) or from one of ourU.S. office locations. Provide analytic and operational support for the implementation, monitoring or evaluation of innovative healthcare service delivery and payment models.

Lead tasks/small projects including a team of programmers and research analysts.

Work directly with clients and team members to draft technical documents such as technical specifications, business requirements, quality assurance plans, and methodology papers.

Oversee the analysis of large data sets, such as Medicare/Medicaid claims.

Manage and contribute to the development of proposals and writing of technical reports and public-facing content, tailored to client and customer needs.

Develop and conduct presentations to government clients.

Effectively coach others to promote their development; set developmental goals and measurements for staff.

Foster an environment that embraces diverse perspectives, abilities, racial/ethnic and cultural backgrounds, ages, gender identities and expressions, educational experiences, and life stories.

QualificationsEducation, Knowledge, and Experience:

Advanced degree (Masters or PhD) in health services research, public policy, public health, economics or a related social science field with a minimum of 3 years of experience in research or operations projects.

Experience with CMS Innovation Center payment models.

Experience with Medicare and/or Medicaid policy and data related to beneficiaries, claims, and providers.

Experience with hospital or primary care payments is a plus, but not required.

Experience with Medicare or Medicaid claims data analysis is a plus, but not required.

Skills:

Ability to analyze and communicate complex technical material.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds.

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and lead teams.

This position offers an anticipated annual salary of $85,000 - $115,000. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the institution and external equity with competitive markets.
