DescriptionThe Alexa Domains User Research team is seeking a Sr. Quantitative User Researcher to bring customer insights into every phase of the product development process, ensuring the organization has the data and inspiration needed to build compelling experiences.Alexa Domains is responsible for building Alexa capabilities that entertain, inform, organize, and empower millions of customers around the world. As a quantitative researcher on this team, you will be responsible for designing, conducting, and analyzing quantitative research studies to inform our product development and evaluate our success. You will identify metrics for assessing quality and customer delight, determine how best to collect required data, run efficient surveying programs, investigate trends with a mixed method approach, effectively report insights to business leaders, and drive data-informed decisions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, data scientists, and engineers.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantitative research methods, excellent analytical skills, comfort with considerable ambiguity, and a passion for understanding user behavior.Key job responsibilities

Work closely with product and design teams to identify research topics, and build a research roadmap; communicate and refresh on a regular basis to ensure relevancy.

Create a deep understanding of our target customers through surveying, A/B tests, regression analysis, and other quantitative methods (existing or invented) that you identify to be most effective

Create repeatable and scalable mechanisms to measure customer sentiment that drives product iteration

Work with Business Intelligence to triangulate insights with key metrics (e.g. usage, engagement) by customer segment and develop regular ways to report on recommended actions

Synthesize a wide range of primary and secondary data types leading to focused, insightful, and actionable insights that persuade and inspire partners and decision makers to take concerted, informed actions

Work closely with product and design teams to promote research best-practices, build resources, and train team members to enable them to execute their own research projects

BA/BS in statistics, experimental psychology, cognitive science, human computer interaction, or related discipline

7+ years of hands-on experience conducting quantitative UX research in an applied setting

Expertise in languages used for data manipulation and statistics (e.g. Python, R, MATLAB, C, Java, Go) and with SQL

End-to-end experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)

Deep knowledge of behavioral statistics and the principles of experimental design

Expertise in qualitative research methods (e.g., in-depth interviews, focus groups, thematic analysis)

Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization

A portfolio demonstrating past work experience, deliverables, and extraction of actionable insights from quantitative data

Preferred Qualifications

MA/MS in statistics, experimental psychology, cognitive science, human computer interaction, or related discipline

Coding experience and knowledge of machine learning concepts

Experience working in a fast paced software development environment

Experience with multimodal device interaction, consumer technology, and/or generative AI

The base pay for this position ranges from $121,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $226,500/year in our highest geographic market.
