Company:Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.Job Area:Engineering Group, Engineering Group > Hardware Applications EngineeringGeneral Summary: At Qualcomm the technical account manager oversees the customers (OEM/ODM) product portfolio and manages the technical aspects of the Qualcomm components (hardware and software) that are designed into the customers projects. You will be required to:

Support the sales account manager by leading the management of the technical relationships between the customer and Qualcomm’s business units

Provide overall project management for the customer project from concept through mass production

For projects under development: drive customer issues to resolution, mitigate escalations and set expectations with the customer by collaborating with engineering on a daily basis

For projects under evaluation: engage with the customer by organizing trainings, reviewing the design concept, gathering project requirements, and analyzing the gaps & risk involved in product commercialization

Align customer milestones with Qualcomm’s hardware and software deliverable timeline by collaborating with product and program management

Review the customer portfolio on a monthly basis, prioritize customer projects and provide justification for technical support resource allocation

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 4+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.ORMaster's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 3+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.ORPhD in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of Hardware Applications Engineering or Hardware Design experience or related work experience.Preferred Qualifications:

8+ years wireless industry experience.

4+ years of managing mobile technology related large scale customer projects and relationships

Ability to proactively manage customer expectations to influence customer relations and design decisions

Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information to a range of audiences

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Leverages advanced Hardware Application knowledge and experience to provide technical expertise of hardware through trainings, product demonstrations, and the design, debug, test, and quality support of customer products that are based on Qualcomm chips.

Collaborates with cross-functional teams and customer personnel in assessing potential application of company products, preparing detailed product specifications, disseminating technical information on specific hardware areas, and/or troubleshooting issues regarding hardware tools and products.

Owns support for a technology and/or chipset area and recommends appropriate modifications and enhancements in light of customer needs.

Proactively identifies customer problems and recommends innovative solutions.

Writes detailed technical documentation for complex Hardware Application projects.

Level of Responsibility:

Works independently with minimal supervision.

Provides supervision/guidance to other team members.

Decision-making is critical in nature and highly impacts program, product, or project success.

Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information. May require negotiation, influence, tact, etc.

Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.

Tasks do not have defined steps; planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
