Position Overview
Cooks at El Toro Mexican Restaurant are integral to our success, responsible for preparing and
cooking a wide range of Mexican dishes according to our established recipes and standards.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to
work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with recipes and standards set by the Kitchen
Manager and Executive Chef.
Ensure the quality and freshness of ingredients and dishes.
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by following sanitation and safety standards.
Work closely with kitchen staff to optimize food production and minimize waste.
Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to the Kitchen Manager.
Assist in the development and refinement of new recipes and menu items.
Manage time effectively to meet service, prep, and cleaning tasks.
Requirements
Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant setting, with a strong foundation in Mexican
cuisine preferred.
Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
Familiarity with industry best practices, including food safety and kitchen hygiene.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items as needed.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a positive, can-do attitude.
Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
