Bits Cafe is looking for “our person”, our next amazing Kitchen Manager.
We are a small brunch restaurant nestled in the neighborhood of West Olympia next to the Westside Food Co-op. Everything we do is for the deep love of this industry and passion for community. We are proud to be a place that feels like a much needed respite from the total dumpster fire that is the world.
Our beloved kitchen manager is moving on to an amazing opportunity so we are looking to add someone to our team with the same work ethics, passion and care. This is a busy shift and requires stamina and consistency that doesn’t waiver with changing moods.
This position is responsible for-
-BOH management
-Overseeing weekly prep
-Inventory management which can be delegated
-Assistance with food cost and portion
-Weekly special creation
-Consistent line work
-Checking me when needed
We have been receiving a lot of attention and getting busier and busier and hoping to find someone excited about helping take this sweet little spot to the next level.
We currently have a small stable menu and strive to offer 2-4 specials a weekend so there is a lot of freedom to be creative. If you’re looking for a place in this industry to call home where you can make almost anything you want, build connections with local vendors and farms and make a lot of people really, really happy this is the place!
We have an open kitchen and our guests are truly the most amazing I have ever experienced at any restaurant. Tips average 30% and above and the reviews make us cry every week. I have never experienced a restaurant that was such an important part of people’s lives. More than just a meal.
Tips are split equally among all staff members because everyone single person here is working just as hard to provide the same experience. They have been averaging $450-550/ week.
Current scheduled hours are flexible prep on Thursdays and Friday-Sunday 6am-3:30pm. We are hoping to add Mondays so hours could adjust based on that.
Hourly starts at $28/hr plus equal share of weekly tips.
