Job description
Caregiver Needed For Myself In Sammamish, Starts Mid November
Please read this description all the way through before applying. Ideally, I am looking for long-term caregivers; my last 2 caregivers were with me for 2 - 3 years each.
I'm looking for a caregiver for myself, I am in my early 60s and have paralysis due to a spinal cord injury, and am in a power wheelchair. Besides lack of mobility, I am in good condition both physically and mentally. I primarily need assistance getting up in the morning (which includes breakfast, shower or bowel program, transferring using a Hoyer, dressing, mobility stretching, hygiene assistance), and getting to bed in the evening (much quicker (about 2 hours) includes hygiene, undressing, transferring, stretching). Your responsibilities will also include light housekeeping, running errands, and transportation (doctor's appointments, errands, etc.). You must be a non-smoker, comfortable with pets and CPR / first-aid trained, and in reasonably close proximity (within 30 minutes) to be available for occasional afternoon appointments. Current CNA or HCA certification required.
Ideally, I am looking for someone who can be a dedicated caregiver providing assistance on a split shift, a minimum of 5 mornings a week, and 5 nights a week, more if you like. I also need transportation to appointments and errands, typically 1-2 days per week. These can be any of the days of the week, and don't have to be together.
If I cannot find a dedicated caregiver working that schedule, I will instead look for someone to do 5 mornings per week (8 AM to 12 PM), and a different person to do the evening shift putting me to bed (8:30 PM to 10:30 PM).
We also occasionally travel, both by car and by air, so you must be available for 1 to 2 week trips. While traveling, we use a stand/pivot or slide board transfer, so strong preference for a male or strong female.
