Traffic Data Gathering is seeking a skilled and reliable Field Technician to join our team as an independent contractor. As a Field Technician, you will play a crucial role in our traffic data collection efforts, contributing to the analysis and improvement of traffic flow in various locations.
Job Description
The Field Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and retrieving traffic data collection equipment at designated locations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and efficiently to ensure accurate data collection. No prior experience needed, we will train you.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and set up traffic counting equipment at specified locations
Job requires travel around the state to different sites for install and pick up
Retrieve equipment and collected data after the designated collection period
Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of data collection devices
Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues in the field
Adhere to safety protocols and traffic regulations while working on-site
Maintain accurate records of equipment installations and retrievals
Communicate effectively with the office team regarding job status and any issues encountered
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Clean driving record
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Reliable personal vehicle (trucks preferred)
Flexibility to work varying schedules, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed
Basic computer skills for data entry and communication
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in traffic data collection or related field
Familiarity with traffic counting equipment and techniques
Knowledge of local traffic patterns and road systems

Pay is provided per location installed and picked up
Mileage reimbursement when using personal vehicle for work-related travel
