WORK SCHEDULE: This position is full-time regular and non-exempt and may require working days, evenings, nights and weekends and alternate work locations. This position works 4 10-hour shifts that include at least one weekend day and holidays. Shifts are generally the following: Day shift 8:30am-7pm; Swing shift: 12:30pm- 11pm; Grave shift 10p-8am.
Applicants who are fluent in Spanish will receive an additional $2.00 per hour language differential.
ABOUT CASA DE LOS AMIGOS: This program serves female clients ages 12-17 who have been placed in the program by the Office of Refugee Resettlement Department of Unaccompanied Children's Services (ORR / DUCS). The clients are unaccompanied minors, primarily from Central America, and the program’s goal is safe and timely reunification with family in the United States. This housing program is open 24/7, 365 days a year.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Program Supervisor, the Engagement Specialist is responsible for the daily management of the program site. All housing programs are open 24/7 and per agency licensing requirements, programs must maintain safe staff and client ratio to provide services to our clients. In conjunction with other staff, the Engagement Specialist’s task is to create a safe and caring environment for vulnerable young people in residence who are preparing to transition to become more self- sufficient. The position requires an individual who can actively contribute to a positive, stable, responsive, and responsible environment for change.
