Position Overview

We are seeking an Economic Development Specialist to join our dynamic team and contribute to the success of Tabor 100’s economic development initiatives. Reporting to the Directors, this role will focus on supporting key programs, including the Tabor 100 Loan Program, The Liberty Project, and various elements of the Technical Assistance program. The ideal candidate will work closely with Tabor 100 members, WMBE business owners, community partners, and government agencies to advance economic growth and opportunity in the region.

Key Responsibilities

Program Support: Assist the Program Director with project management and client/customer communications, both verbal and written.

Business Recruitment: Support efforts to recruit businesses to participate in Tabor 100 programs.

Business Support: Meet and work closely with business owners to understand their goals, provide guidance, and connect them with resources and programs that support their success.

Grant Management: Monitor, report, and ensure compliance for grants through the Tabor 100 Technical Assistance Program

Collaboration & Partnerships: represent Tabor 100 to state and local government partners in meetings, collaborate with community stakeholders on development projects, and ensure timely project execution.

Marketing & Communications: Assist with maintaining and enhancing Tabor’s web-based, print, and social media marketing programs, including regular content updates and reviews.

Community Outreach: Facilitate community meetings, workshops, public forums to engage stakeholders in the economic development process and gather input on local priorities.

Administrative Tasks: Perform departmental administrative tasks related to program management.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

At least three (3) years of professional experience in economic development, grant management, nonprofit or government administration, or a related field.

Desired Skills and Attributes:

Strong project management and organizational skills.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with business owners, government agencies, and community organizations.

Experience with grant writing, administration, and compliance.

Familiarity with marketing strategies, including social media and website management.

A passion for supporting and empowering WMBE businesses.

Job Type: Fulltime

Salary Range: Negotiable based on qualifications and experience
