Description
The Tom Douglas Seattle Kitchen (TDSK) Marketing Team is responsible for developing and executing
marketing strategies to help establish the Tom Douglas Seattle Kitchen brand, drive traffic into the
businesses, increase awareness of our chef teams and restaurant locations, create culinary and community
centric events, and maintain best practices for digital and social media strategies. The Marketing Team
closely collaborates with restaurant teams, restaurant business strategy plans, and corporate leadership to
map out promotions, campaigns and creative projects that promote higher profitability and
competitiveness. The Marketing & Administrative Coordinator will report to Marketing Director and assist
both the Director and Manager with all tasks relating to marketing initiatives and events with a strong
prioritization towards social media efforts. Additionally, this role will be responsible for coordinating and
scheduling meetings specific to the Executive Team and restaurant teams, updating and keeping
calendars current with company-wide events, and seeking out efficient tactics for communication and
meeting requests, scheduling options, etc.
In addition to the duties as Marketing & Administrative Coordinator, key responsibilities are:
Social Media / Marketing:
Work closely with teams to design and create social media (and all digital) marketing pieces to
help drive sales or increase awareness. Work with chefs, GMs and team marketing to create
content and use multiple social channels on sharing content in the most effective way
possible. Seek out online trends and create reports for all teams (restaurants, ops, etc.) that
would find benefit from the trends.
Manage social media for Tom Douglas Seattle Kitchen and enhance the process of
decentralization of social media accounts to specific restaurants as needed; maintain sensitivity
and maturity when handling social media during times of (global, local or public relations
related) crises.
Design and share how to strategies for social media content, copy writing and partnerships for
all restaurants individual pages.
Create and monitor goals for social media channels (number of followers, takeovers, etc.) as it
relates to the business plans for each restaurant.
Be available as a resource for marketing team when assistance is needed with completing large
projects and events.
Submit ideas for experimental marketing programs and partnerships designed to enhance and
grow the companys brand.
Assist in managing all website(s) and business digital platforms in conjunction with Marketing
Director, Manager and contractor (Transom).
Administrative:
Maintain strong organization of calendars and scheduling communication for Executive Team
and restaurant teams, including managing reminders with all attendees.
Fields incoming emails and phone calls requesting meeting times with Executive Team
Coordinate appearances, media requests, video/photo shoots alongside Marketing Director
Supports the HR team with social recruiting methods and employment brand development.
Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related
publications; establishing networks.
Performs additional responsibilities, although not detailed, as requested by a restaurant or
corporate manager.
Requirements
Desired knowledge, skills and abilities:
3+ years of experience in the marketing industry specific to digital/social media marketing
Experience with Google, Adobe, and Microsoft software suites (most importantly Outlook and
Outlook Calendar); all social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, SnapChat)
Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics, ideally with restaurant/chef industry
experience
Willingness to work flexible schedule.
Proven ability to actively initiate marketing and promotional activities.
