Location: UA Local 32 — Renton, WA

Job Type: Temporary (Approximately 6 months)

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM (occasional shifts outside these hours may be required depending on needs of business)

Salary: $22–$25 per hour, depending on experience

About the Role:

UA Local 32 is seeking a dedicated and organized Office Assistant to support our team for a temporary assignment of approximately 6 months. This full-time role requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensure smooth office operations, and provide excellent service to our members.

Key to success in this role will be your ability to multitask, communicate effectively with both members and staff, and maintain a high level of accuracy in handling sensitive information. Your contribution will ensure that both members and the office team have the resources and support they need.

Key Responsibilities:

Answering and Directing Incoming Calls: Serve as the first point of contact by promptly answering all incoming calls, ensuring that inquiries are handled efficiently, and directing calls to the appropriate departments or staff members as needed.

Member Assistance: Provide excellent customer service by assisting members at the front window with various requests.

Processing Dues Payments: Accurately process membership dues payments in a timely manner, including handling cash and credit transactions, issuing receipts, and ensuring that all payment records are updated correctly in the system.

Mail Management: Sort, distribute, and process incoming and outgoing mail, including packages and deliveries.

Record Maintenance: Accurately maintain, update, and file membership records, ensuring that all documentation is kept organized, accessible, and secure.

Administrative Support: Assist with various office administrative tasks such as copying, filing, scanning, and data entry. Ensure that office supplies are well-stocked and that work areas are kept organized.

Qualifications:

1–2 years of office experience, or equivalent experience gained through academic coursework or internships.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), with the ability to create, format, and edit documents, spreadsheets, and emails.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly and professionally interact with staff, members, and visitors.

Previous experience in a customer-facing role or a service-oriented environment is a plus.
